My favourite aspect of being a photographer is that I am a storyteller.
With the details contained in each frame, the story unfolds. It can be one of fiction where I can create characters embodying the desires & wants of you and me. It can be a true story where honesty is divine.
With any of life’s great loves, they start innocently & yet impulsively. With my pocket money as a young teen, I subscribed to Rolling Stone magazine. I could race home after school to immerse myself in the photography by the likes of David LaChapelle which was vivid in colour, drama & hyperbole. To this day, I still have all of the magazines marking the beginnings of my love with photography & my style in the medium.
My undergraduate studies were in Film, TV & Commercial Photography where I excelled in cinematography & lighting. I have also completed my Master of Arts in Visual Arts Degree majoring in Photography at Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art, Brisbane, Australia.
I love the fact that photography always makes me say “WOW.” I’ll look at an image & think “Yes please”, “Who’s that?”, “I want them”, “I need that”, “That’s incredible”, “Just beautiful”. I’m forever under photography’s spell & aim to achieve this allure for audiences with my imagery.
